Kente & Silk presents By the Fireside 在炉边 @Chez SOI 叁珩森林法式吧/Bistrot français

On Saturday, March 20th from 7 PM, join Kente & Silk and friends by the Fireside for a vibrant night of words, music and socialising. Together we will set the stage alight with some of the best writers, artists and poets in and around Beijing. Again, Kente & Silk collaborate with the extraordinary, Mystic,  to respond to the misrepresentation of Africans and the African diaspora with poetic justice. Join us for a beautiful night of Afrocentric poetry, spoken word, storytelling and song to celebrate African representation and African women. 

By the Fireside brings you treasured African traditions of fireside-style storytelling, poetry, spoken word, live music performances and more.  Kente & Silk and a whole host of creative talent will celebrate African influencers, cultures and identity, through the ages with poetry, songs and stories. Don't miss this educating and entertaining night to address the wrong African representation we see today from problematic media representations of whitewashing to blackface. Black Livity China's CEO will share a special video presentation about their ground-breaking piece "Racism with Chinese characteristics"
